Hike to the Ice Caves

We hiked up to the Ice Caves about an hour from our house. The caves are formed by water passing through a snow field in July and August. Olivia did a great job hiking. It was a hot day but nice and cool by the caves.

Nathan and Brianna poking their heads in a gap between two ice caves. The air blowing out the holes was so cold that Olivia and I couldn't get that close.

These waterfalls are coming down all over the mountain and form the caves that we were visiting.

This was the biggest cave. Several semi trucks could have parked inside. There are many warnings not to enter the caves. The ice shelf ceiling is not very thick.

Bryan carried Olivia for about 5 minutes on the way down. She was a happy hiker and loved the adventure.

  1. That's one site we never got around to visiting while we lived there. I wasn't sure what it was all about, but it looks really worthwhile. Fun!

  3. That looks like tons of fun! That's crazy that even though it's a hot summer, there's still places you can find like that. Olivia looks so cute in her picture.
